Update; $1400 has been sent to Angel and the firefighters in San Ignacio so far. They have been able to buy new chainsaws, pay for gas/diesel, fix damaged electrical lines, buy building materials and rebuild damaged structures, pay laborers for their hard work, and improve the firefighter supplies/ firetruck. My goal for the gofundme is to get to $2,000 donations. A little bit goes a long way down there.

Ive started this gofundme on behalf of the firefighters and the townspeople of San Ignacio that were affected by the recent wildfire. San Ignacio is a beautiful little oasis that many travelers and nomads stop at while visiting Baja. If you’ve ever spent time in San Ignacio, then you know how special of a place it is. My friends Angel and Ryen are currently fighting the fires alongside the rest of the bomberos. An unknown individual was burning brush near town when the winds caused the fire to spread out of control. Angel and Ryen have been working tirelessly day and night with the town’s small makeshift fire crew to battle the fires. Angel is one of the kindest, selfless people I met while in Baja California; he helped me in my time of need and now I want to help him. I want to raise money to help him get supplies for his fire crew, rebuild damaged property, and to help the other townspeople that were affected.

I have been keeping in close contact with Angel and Ryen, and all the money raised will be sent to them via Venmo.
