Support for Sam Eissing
Sam Eissing has been a beloved Pre-K teacher at Catskill Elementary for many years, and so many local families know firsthand the love, patience, and care Sam has given to their children. Sam has supported not only students, but also their families and the broader school community in countless meaningful ways. Now, after recent flooding, Sam is facing an incredibly difficult loss. Rising water tore through the first floor of Sam’s home, causing devastating damage and leaving the house unlivable. At this time, Sam cannot live at home, and the financial burden has been overwhelming. The damage to the house is estimated at around $70,000, with another $80,000 in damage to the contents of the home. Insurance is only providing $3,000, and Sam is also facing a $10,000 deductible.
Like so many people who are always there for others, Sam was hesitant to ask for help and felt that so many others may need it more. Sam has finally agreed to allow this situation to be shared in hopes of finding some much-needed relief during this overwhelming time. Donations will go directly toward repairing the home, replacing damaged belongings, covering the deductible, and making the house livable again so Sam can move back and remain close to the school community served for so long. Jennifer and other community members are asking for help in giving back to someone who has given so much over the years. If you are able to donate, please consider supporting Sam during this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter the size, will be deeply appreciated. This is a chance for the community to come together in the spirit of Cats Can, Cats Will, and take care of one of their own.
