I never imagined I’d have to ask for help like this—but after a last-minute collapse of a signed deal, I lost my business, my space, and the plan I spent months building.
When I’ve shared the full story in person, people go quiet—their faces fall, their eyes fill. Some details are better shared privately, but I can tell you this:
For months, I had a plan in place to secure funding and keep both the spirit and income of Quirkshop alive. I worked tirelessly alongside another local creative small business owner here in Peekskill, building something we truly believed in.
But right at the finish line—after months of work, and just hours before the takeover—everything unraveled. I had already moved my studio out in preparation. Overnight, the deal collapsed, and the space was lost to both of us.
But this isn’t the end of Quirkshop—it’s the beginning of something new.
After 11 years of building Quirkshop into a home for artists, misfits, and dreamers, I’m now turning toward its next chapter: a traveling boutique bus that carries everything Quirkshop has always stood for out into the world.
A chance to take what was once rooted in a single space and let it move, and reach new communities in a more open and accessible way.
My dream is to transform a small bus into a beautiful, functional mobile boutique—bringing handmade goods, sustainable clothing, and creative work to markets, festivals, and towns far beyond a brick-and-mortar location.
And I can’t build it alone.
Why I’m asking for help
Building a mobile shop from the ground up takes more than creativity—it takes real, upfront costs. After losing the funds I was counting on to build this, I need support to bring this vision to life.
Your help will go directly toward:
Purchasing and converting the bus
Solar and electrical systems
Interior buildout (using reclaimed materials wherever possible)
Anyone who ever walked in knows that Quirkshop was a one of a kind destination that artists and people who knew that handmade held a special kind of magic.
Every contribution helps turn this into something real:
a traveling space that supports artists, connects communities, and keeps this creative spirit alive.
And when that bus hits the road, everyone who helped make it happen will be part of that story.
In the meantime, I’ll be hosting pop-ups and rebuilding from my home studio—so keep an eye out for new work and updates as this all comes together.
Thank you for believing in me, and in what Quirkshop has always stood for.
With love and gratitude,
Jeorjia
Quirkshop
