My mother’s aide of seven years, Phyllis, has been a true blessing to our family. Originally from Jamaica, she is one of the kindest, most generous, and most caring people I have ever met. Despite earning very little, she selflessly supports her mother, son, and granddaughter back home in Jamaica. Sadly, their hometown of Westmoreland was recently devastated by Hurricane Melissa. The storm completely destroyed the roof of Phyllis’s home and flattened her granddaughter’s house, as shown in the cover photo. These are humble, hardworking people who now need our help more than ever.
