My name is Veronica James-Parchment, affectionately known as Miss Veron. I am a former teacher at Sandy Bank Primary School and currently serve as Pastor of Calvary Church on Church Street in Treasure Beach, Jamaica.

I’m reaching out with a humble and prayerful heart, asking for your help to rebuild my home, which was severely damaged by Hurricane Melissa. The storm ripped off the roof, causing flooding, interior damage, and destruction to the electrical system.

This heartbreak comes just one year after Hurricane Beryl left us with similar devastation. My family and I—six in total, including two young children (ages four and eight)—have been trying to recover, but this second disaster has set us back even further.

Even while facing my own challenges, I’ve remained committed to serving others in my community—offering support, comfort, and hope wherever I can. But now, I find myself in need of the same compassion I’ve always tried to give.

My goal is not just to rebuild, but to fortify our home—to replace the destroyed roof with a decked structure that can stand strong against future storms. The estimated cost to rebuild and restore the home, including structural reinforcement and electrical repairs, is US $30,000.
