HELP REBUILD OUR WORKERS TOOLKITS AFTER PALISADES FIRE
Donation protected
I own a construction company in West Los Angeles. For the last 2 months, I had 6 employees working at 15310 Sunset Blvd in Palisades Villages each day installing metal frames and eventually drywall. We were renovating a clothing store that was going to open in February.
In construction, employees bring their own tools to work. These individuals begin their career journey at a young age as an apprentice and as they gain experience they buy tools. These tools are the greatest asset for a carpenter. The more tools you have, the more work you can do and the more employable you are. It is like having a good laptop if you are a software developer.
On Wednesday, January 8th at 4am the Anderson Building in the Palisades burned down. Our employees had evacuated earlier that day. They were not able to recover any of their tools before the fire came in. Without tools, our employees cannot do any work and generate income for their families.
We are trying to piece together how we can keep our employees working and their paychecks rolling in. As a business owner we are helping as much as we can, but our finances are also stretched with insurance claims and payment delays.
100% of proceeds will go immediately and directly to our employees to buy tools so they can work and earn money to provide for their families.
Our employees will be on the front lines of rebuilding the communities impacted by fires. They are eager to get back to work and help out all the families who have been impacted.
We appreciate any contribution. Many people have lost a lot more than us. Our workforce is devastated.
