I never imagined I’d be in this position, but after losing our home to a fire, my family and I have been struggling to keep a roof over our heads. While trying to recover, I was robbed while working DoorDash, and though I survived, I suffered severe injuries—broken bones in my arm, ribs, and a bruised lung. My truck, which is the only way I can work and support my mom, son, and dog, now has a major engine issue. With over 265,000 miles and a timing chain problem, it’s nearly impossible to find someone willing to fix it, and paying for repairs feels out of reach. We’re staying in an extended stay hotel, but our funds run out soon, and we’re just weeks away from being homeless again.
I help my mom, who’s been 100% disabled since 1999, and with no dad and no other family to turn to, it’s my responsibility to keep us together. I was supposed to have surgery on my arm, but I can’t right now because I need to care for her. If we can get help, donations will go toward fixing my truck so I can keep working, paying for temporary housing, and, if possible, covering surgery costs so I can return to my other job installing granite, marble, and slate countertops.
I don’t know how to ask for help, but I’m at my limit and out of options. Most people have friends or family to lean on, but mine are all here with me. If anyone sees this and decides to help, God bless you. Any money received that’s not used will be passed on to someone else who feels as hopeless as I do right now. Thank you so much for reading and for any support you can offer.
