Our 100-year-old family home in Montego Bay, Jamaica, was destroyed during Hurricane Melissa. The roof collapsed, everything inside was ruined, and my grandmother and aunt were left without safe shelter. We’re raising funds to rebuild their homes and replace what was lost. Any support — big or small — means the world to us. ❤️
Hello, my name is Shannon Clarke, and In from Savannah, Georgia (USA). I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my grandmother and aunt, who live in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Our family’s main home in Jamaica — a house that has been in our family for over 100 years — was severely damaged during Hurricane Melissa. The roof completely caved in, the shingles blew off, and everything inside was destroyed by wind and rain.
This home holds generations of memories. It’s where our family gathered for holidays, shared meals, and built our roots. My grandmother, who still lives there, lost nearly everything inside.
To make matters worse, my aunt’s house, located nearby, was also destroyed when a large tree fell on it, causing the entire structure to collapse. Both homes are now unlivable, and our family is struggling to recover from this devastation.
We’re raising funds to help with:
• Rebuilding and roof repairs
• Replacing essential household items (beds, furniture, appliances, clothing)
• Temporary housing and basic needs for my grandmother and aunt
All funds will go directly toward rebuilding and supporting my family members in Jamaica. I’ll personally manage the funds to ensure that every dollar goes toward materials, labor, and essentials for their recovery.
Any amount, no matter how small, will make a huge difference. If you’re unable to donate, please share this page to help spread the word and support our family as we rebuild what Hurricane Melissa took away.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and prayers.
