Help Brenda and Ben rebuild after flooding-

Hi friends and loved ones,

I’m writing this with a heavy heart. My parents, Brenda and Benjamin Abshier, recently lost nearly everything due to the devastating flooding in Rio Hondo, Texas. Over three feet of water rushed into their home, destroying furniture, appliances, personal belongings, and countless irreplaceable memories built over their 30+ years together.

If you know my parents, you know they are the kind of people who give without hesitation. Whether it’s family, neighbors, coworkers, or even complete strangers, my parents have always gone out of their way to help anyone in need. They’re quiet fighters—hardworking, kind, generous, and proud of the life they’ve built through love and grit.

This disaster has left their home unlivable and their hearts heavy. Though they’re doing everything they can to stay strong and rebuild, they now face the enormous emotional and financial toll of starting over. They would never ask for help themselves, but I am asking on their behalf.

Every donation—no matter how small—will go directly toward helping them replace what was lost, begin repairs, and navigate the long road to rebuilding. Even sharing this fundraiser means the world to us.
