Help Rebuild Our Home After a Devestating Burglary

During sometime in the night on February 28, 2024, my family's home of 30+ years in Lavergne, TN was broken into and burglarized. Our house was ransacked and left in disarray for my parents and brother to come home to. Luckily, no one was hurt, but there was a lot of property damage done. They smashed our back porch door open and off its hinges and piles and piles of our stuff were thrown everywhere. The robbers stole about $50-70K worth of valuables, including a one-of-a kind watch my deceased grandpa gave to my dad. As of right now, they have been slowling trying to clean up the mess and tragedy left behind. Police have told my parents it is unlikely they will be able to identify and arrest any suspects anytime soon or get any of their things back. Our insurance will not provide much in comaprison to the amount we lost. Please help my parents get back on their feet after losing everything, years worth of hard work due to the greed of terrible people.

Pictured above is my parents' dresser which contained over $50k worth of cultural gold jewelery. Right next to it was my mother's purses and a 'Happy Birthday' box I custom made shred to pieces, which had thousands of dollars in cash all stolen.

The thieves rummaged in every corner of the house and threw everything onto the ground.

Keeow and Van Phonxaya came to America over 33 years ago to start a new life after their home country Laos was suffering from the Vietnam War. They coincidentally met in Ohio and quickly got married soon after. They started a family before moving down to Tennessee to a beautiful home in the quiet neighborhoods of La Vergne. They had three children who are now all adults that have flown their childhood home's nest. Van was a successful realtor and insurance agent for 20 years, and now the co-owner to our family business. Keeow was a master tailor for a men's suit store for 10 years before deciding to open her own alterations and dry cleaning business, Vila Cleaners and Alterations, in 2016 in Smyrna, TN. She recently turned 60 years old in January.

They have worked so hard for the past 30 years to build an amazing life for their three kids, and now finally owning their own successful business to pass on in the family.

My mother, Keeow, is so passionate about what she does that she works from morning to till night every single day, without a break for herself. As a result of my parents' dedication to Vila Cleaners and Alterations, our home was left vulnerable to the hands of evil people. Never in our 30 years of living in this neighborhood had we felt any danger or fear, so my parents were unprepared in any preventions. Police were unable to help much at the scene, but they did inform us that we are not the only house that has been hit recently. If you or your family lives in the La Vergne/Smyrna area, please take many precautions and up security measures as there has been a recent trend of burlgaries around.

This money will go towards the lost valuables (half of which was cash they have been saving up for years now), setting up security measures for the house and the business, and property damages.
