A devastating day at our farm, at least for our historic barn and many old trees. Luckily no horses hurt and our house luckily unscathed. My heart breaks as we tried so hard to make our historic barn beautiful. The barn was originally built in 1816, the upper part likely rebuilt in 1900, so 125 years ago. A powerful storm can through and all this damage occurred in only a few minutes. We kept this barn in pristine condition, so heartbreaking with this storm.
About 30-40 huge old trees to remove close to buildings and pastures and fencing repairs not covered by insurance. We appreciate any assistance people want to give.
As a production farm this had halved our ability to store hay for our animals and others. Plus the horses now only have their run in sheds for shelter.
