Help Rebuild Our Front Door

Hello Black Swanners,

I am sure most of you already know who we are, but for those who don’t, we are Newark, NJ’s first 3rd Wave specialty coffee and tea shop. We opened in 2016 and have loved being a cultural hub downtown.

Unfortunately, last week we experienced a break-in at the shop. The assailant scoped out our shop and threw a rock through our window, shattering glass everywhere and stealing the cash out of the register. This incident has not only caused physical damage to the shop but emotional damage to our staff and community.

This was an unforeseen expense that we have not accounted for this year, and with the current state of the economy, it will be difficult to fix (as the door is still not fixed to this day).

We are asking for help from our friends and community to help raise money to purchase a new door.

The cost will be anywhere from $1200 - $2000 for a full replacement and install.

Putting together a GoFundMe is not something we would typically do, and even writing this seems peculiar and out of character. But I was urged by friends in the community to go outside of my comfort zone and ask for help from the community, so here we are.

We ask that you can donate whatever you can, and if it is just buying a cup of coffee, it will be much appreciated as we appreciate you.
