Help Rebuild Grapevine Comics
Donation protected
Hey everyone, my name is Kayla and I’m fundraising for our dear friend, Jim.
Our favorite Stockton comic shop, Grapevine Games Comics and Cards, recently experienced a catastrophic, incident that has left the shop and the owner absolutely destroyed. Our beloved comic shop, a place that brought joy to countless comic and Pop Culture enthusiasts, was tragically ran through with a vehicle and burglarized. Besides the items the thieves took, the shop itself looks like a bomb went off and the insurance is denying the claim. This incident has shattered tons of Grapevine’s patrons and the owner.
The owner, Jim, has poured his heart and soul into building his shop. It was more than just a business to all of us; it was a sanctuary for fellow comic lovers, a place where all people were welcomed with open arms. The inventory was amazing and the conversations were like no others. For years, this place has been a pillar of our community and a place to share our passion for comics and Pop Culture with anyone who walked through the doors.
The recent robbery has caused immeasurable damage. Valuable comic books, collectibles, and cherished memorabilia were stolen or destroyed. The financial toll is substantial, but the emotional toll is even greater. Jim not only lost merchandise but also a part of his identity and the community hub he worked so hard to create.
We are reaching out to you, our compassionate community, for support. We have created this GoFundMe campaign with the aim of raising funds to help the shop rebuild. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a tremendous difference.
Our goal is to raise $19,600 to assist in the restoration of the comic book shop. This fund will help cover the costs of repairs and renovations, to bring the shop back to life. Jim only wants to get the shop open again and wants no money to replace merchandise, only materials and some of the labor costs. That’s the kind of guy he is, genuine and honest to his core.
- Renovations and repairs: [$11,000]
- Replace Security Gates/systems and measures: [$8600]
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for any and all support. Your generosity will not only help rebuild Grapevine but also restore hope and resilience in the face of adversity. We promise to keep you updated on the progress of the campaign and share the steps being taken to rebuild the shop.
Please help us spread the word by sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and social networks. Together, we can help the shop rise from this setback and rebuild a thriving comic book haven for our community.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support in helping our friend reclaim his passion and rebuild our most loved, Grapevine Comics.
