I’m reaching out for help after our dad’s garage suffered severe fire damage. Sadly, he’s not alone - there have been two fires in our area recently, and his family business is in ruins.

Our dad, a hardworking local mechanic and old-age pensioner, has dedicated 40 years to running this garage. It’s more than just a business—it’s been a lifeline for the community around Queen’s Road and Evington Road in Leicestershire. Over the years, he’s helped countless people, often doing free repairs for those struggling to afford them. Now, after all he’s given, he needs help.

We’ve already put in the hard work of clearing the damage, but now we need funds to rebuild. Unfortunately, the insurance did not cover first party related losses. With two-thirds of the garage affected, we’re facing major repair costs we can’t afford on our own. While we’re still getting exact quotes, rough estimates put the costs at:

£3,000 – New roofing for the ground floor

£2,500 – Rebuilding damaged walls

£2,000 – Replacing essential tools and equipment

£2,500 – Re-constructing a secure outdoor work shed
