Our family farm has always been more than just a place to raise animals—it’s been a sanctuary for learning, healing, and building community. After years of running a successful farm school and horsemanship program at our previous location, we faced a devastating setback: catastrophic water loss forced us to shut down, move, and start over from scratch. The transition has been tough, and our programs have not yet recovered financially.
We are passionate about offering relationship-based horsemanship classes, an equestrian team, and unique homeschool co-operative programs open to all ages and families. Our dream is to make these opportunities accessible to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay, by funding scholarships through this fundraiser. On our new farm, we’re committed to restoring native habitats, building an educational center, and teaching our community about horsemanship, nature study, conservation, and regenerative farming practices.
This past year has brought even more challenges. My supportive husband and biggest cheerleader, Eddie, became increasingly ill with a rare genetic disorder and is now unable to contribute physically to the farm, living on supplemental oxygen 24/7. As I step back from full-time farm work to care for him at home, our income has dropped to a fraction of what it was just months ago. Despite these curveballs, I am determined to keep our dream alive and continue teaching part-time while we transform this place into the magical community hub we’ve always envisioned.
Right now, we need help with immediate essentials: hay for the winter, critical barn repairs, building safe and accessible facilities, and preparing for next spring’s veterinary needs. Looking ahead, we hope to build a retreat with horse trails, equestrian camping, and a state-of-the-art, handicap-accessible indoor arena. We want to create a space where everyone can learn, heal, and grow together.
This isn’t about luxury or expansion—it’s about preserving what we’ve already built and giving it a chance to serve again. If you feel called to support this mission, please know it means more than I can say.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Jeni
