Hello everyone,
Our names are Mario & Shan Williams, and we are originally from Jamaica, though we now live in Canada with our family. But our hearts and roots will always be in Jamaica. Mario was born and raised in the beautiful parish of Westmoreland , where much of his family and childhood friends still live. My heart is heavy as I write this Hurricane Melissa has devastated our homeland and the community where we are from and the extended communities around us.
Many families have lost their homes, their belongings, and even their loved ones. Roads are destroyed, people are left without food, clean water, or shelter, and entire communities are struggling to recover. Many have lost everything they worked their whole lives for, and some are still trying to find safety and stability after the storm.Seeing my home a place full of love, faith, and strength in this state has been absolutely heartbreaking.
We may be living in Canada now, but Jamaica will forever be our home. Watching our people go through so much pain and hardship from afar has been heartbreaking. We knew we couldn’t just sit back and do nothing we had to help in any way we could. My husband and I have been doing what we can to help, but the need is far greater than what we can manage alone. That’s why we’ve decided to start this fundraiser to bring relief directly to the people who need it most.
This GoFundMe was created to raise funds that will go directly to families and individuals affected by the hurricane in our community.
All funds raised will go toward:

We believe in transparency and accountability. We will be sharing updates, photos, and receipts to show exactly how your donations are being used to help those affected. No amount is too small. Whether it’s $5,$10,$20 or $50, every act of kindness brings hope to someone who has lost everything. Even sharing this link helps more than you know.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your compassion, generosity, and prayers.Your generosity and prayers mean the world .Together, we can help Jamaica heal and rebuild.
