Help Rebuild Nadia's Life and Support Her Husband's Recovery

Donation protected

My name is Libby Meredith, and I am from the US, from Nevada. I have created this campaign on behalf of my friend Nadia Osama and her husband who are suffering during the current occupation of Gaza. All donations will go directly to her and her husband to help them survive this terrible time. This is her story in her own words:
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read our urgent appeal for help. The resilience and hope that my family and I have shown amidst the ongoing conflict and personal tragedy in Gaza are truly inspiring.

Today, we need your support more than ever.

My name is Nadia, and I am 25 years old. I speak to you with a trembling voice and a heart bleeding with pain. I live in an area devastated by years of war, amidst destruction, death, and displacement, where daily life means overcoming challenges that many of us can hardly fathom, such as securing basic necessities like water, food, medicine, clothing, and electricity, which has been cut off since October 7. We only see the light of the lamp in our dreams, or we almost never see its light at all. I must admit that the last time we used a faucet was in October of last year. To preserve my personal safety, my strength shines through my family and our unity as we face ongoing hardships.

My family's suffering has greatly increased after my husband was shot by the Israeli occupation army, rendering him unable to walk or move at all. Despite undergoing a complex surgery, he has not regained full mobility and now requires continuous care and additional complex surgeries outside the Gaza Strip (photo of medical referral report included above).

This situation has placed enormous emotional and financial pressure on our family, leading to an irreversible change in our lives.

Recently, these challenges have pushed my family into even greater despair. We now live in a dilapidated tin shack amidst a real and deadly famine. It is an extremely small house that provides no protection from the heat of the sun or the winter rains, and it has been damaged by airstrikes and storms during the war, making it uninhabitable. We are struggling to find safety and stability day by day.

Since then, I, Nadia, have taken on the role of primary caregiver for my husband and our family. The war has exacerbated the difficulties we face, particularly those affecting my husband, who lost his job as a teacher for children with special needs, especially deaf children in primary school, due to the war. This devastating event shattered his future, which was full of promise, as he was an ambitious person seeking to build a better life for himself and his family in a state of uncertainty.

Today, my family and I stand at a crossroads where we are struggling with the rising medical costs for my husband and seeking treatment outside Gaza. The doctors have said that he needs nerve graft surgery on his left foot due to a gunshot wound. The cost of treatment outside Gaza is extremely high, including travel expenses, crossing fees, hospital accommodation, and all medical, health, and food expenses. This funding would give me a chance to rebuild my husband's life, restore his health, and bring hope back to us. It will allow him to walk and move again, and help us start rebuilding what has been destroyed.

I, Nadia, am also seeking work in the current displacement camps because I lost my job as a teacher in an educational institution. I am doing all of this to help rebuild our disrupted life and assist my husband in restoring what the war has destroyed.

We need your help to overcome these very difficult times. The severe and unfortunate injury that my husband sustained has had a major negative impact on our lives, disrupting every aspect of our existence.

I provide self-care and physical assistance to him and strive daily to secure food if it is available. Often, we only have one meal a day, consisting of poorly stored canned goods containing preservatives that threaten the health and well-being of our bodies, which have been weakened by malnutrition and the famine caused by the war. Any contribution, large or small, will go directly to medical expenses and daily basic needs, giving our family some stability and hope during this time.

Please consider supporting me and my family through your contribution. Together, we can help bring a measure of peace and recovery to our lives. Your donation can make a real difference in our lives, which have been overshadowed by conflict and destruction. This donation will not only provide us with financial relief but will also give us a deep sense of solidarity.

Please do not turn away from our suffering. Let compassion guide your actions and lead you to support us, even if it's just with $5, so that we can regain our ability to rebuild our lives, recover, and secure a future for my family during these dark times and overcome the deadly famine of living without fear.

Thank you for your generosity and for standing with my family during this critical time.
