Hi! My name is Geronimo (MoMo for short). I am a North American Gray Wolf. My packmates and I, through no fault of our own, were evicted from the only home we have ever known, Seacrest Wolf Preserve, with only 20 days’ notice. Sadly, wolves in sanctuary are just as endangered and misunderstood as our wild brothers and sisters.

Thanks to you, our supporters, we are all safe and doing well. Of course, we are excited and anxious to get to our permanent new home at Seacrest 2.0. With the help of our dedicated 2-legged pack mates we have updated our GOFUNDME to let you know how things are going and our current needs. Here’s what they have to share:

We have found a beautiful new home for Seacrest in the northwest Florida panhandle - Seacrest 2.0. On this new property the wolves can once again roam spacious, natural habitats and continue the mission of education, conservation, and compassion for generations to come. But here is the hard truth: land alone is not a sanctuary. Every single structure that kept our animals safe - every enclosure, every shelter, every building must now be built from the ground up.

This is no easy task. It will require dedicated staff on the ground, time, and funding. Just to get enough habitats built for those in temporary sanctuary will take 12-18 months and cost about $2 million dollars. Here’s a rough breakdown on costs:

• Enclosures and fencing $684,865

• Buildings and infrastructure $619,580

• Utilities and site work $390,000

• Professional services $147,000

• Contingency $276,217

The numbers are big. We won't pretend otherwise. But so is this mission — and so is this community of supporters!

We survived a category 5 hurricane, a global pandemic, and decades of fighting for wolves that so many misunderstand and fear. With your help we will also survive this eviction and create an even better Seacrest 2.0.
