My Only Home Was Destroyed in the Aspen Acres Fire

My name is Evon Michelle, and for 64 years, my family owned a small cabin in the mountains of Beulah, Colorado. This cabin was my only home: a sanctuary, a creative retreat, and the place where I pursued a simple life close to nature. I expected to live there for the rest of my life, building my future through writing, filmmaking, and connecting with the land.

Recently, the Aspen Acres Fire swept through the Beulah area, devastating our community. Families were forced to evacuate with little notice, uncertain whether they would ever see their homes again. The fire has burned almost a 100,000 acres and destroyed hundreds of homes and structures throughout the region.

My cabin, my only home, was completely burned to the ground. At the time of creating this fundraiser, I am homeless, with nothing left to repair. All I can do is clean up and try to restore the land. There is no insurance to cover cleanup or restoration of the damage, so I am facing this loss alone and without resources.

The funds raised through this campaign will help cover property cleanup and debris removal, replacement of essential items lost in the fire, and restoration costs. Since the home was completely destroyed, every dollar raised is critical to this cleanup and recovery process.

Beyond helping one property, this fundraiser is part of a larger effort to support recovery in the Beulah community. Our mountain community has been deeply affected by this disaster, and every contribution helps create hope and momentum as we begin the long process of healing. If you are able to donate, share this campaign, or simply keep our community in your thoughts, I am deeply grateful. Your support will help transform a time of uncertainty and loss into an opportunity to create something better than before, something that is more in harmony with the natural environment. Thank you for being part of this journey.
