My name is Carey, and I am the owner of Diamond Island Farm located in Haleiwa on the North Shore of Oahu. The recent Kona Low storms brought severe flooding to my one-acre diversified vegetable farm. In a matter of hours, years of work building healthy soil and nurturing crops were washed away. The greenhouse was damaged, with the plastic roof ripped off, and the land now needs significant restoration before I can grow again. This farm isn’t just a business—it’s a commitment to growing clean, healthy food using organic and regenerative practices. For eight years, I’ve provided vegetables to the north shore community, local restaurants, and farmers markets. Now, after a 100% crop loss and infrastructure damage, I’m facing one of the toughest challenges yet.
To reset the farm, I need to pay workers to help replant, buy compost and nutrients to repair the soil, and fix the greenhouse. The costs are overwhelming, and I simply don’t have the resources on hand after this disaster. I’m reaching out to my community, friends, and supporters with humility and hope. If you’ve ever supported local agriculture, believed in regenerative farming, or benefited from small farms like mine, I’m asking for your help. Your support—whether it’s a donation, sharing this campaign, or spreading the word—will go directly toward rebuilding the farm from the ground up. Thank you. Every bit of support truly makes a difference.
