Help Rebuild My Mum's Life After a Devastating House Fire
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Connor, and I'm reaching out to you for support. My mum recently experienced a tragic and life-changing event when her home was intentionally set on fire by someone she trusted—my biological father. This horrifying act has left her without a home, all her belongings destroyed, and, most painfully, it took the life of her best friend and beloved dog, Peggy.
For context, my biological father is a dangerous man with a long history of criminal behaviour , including acts of violence. This is why I chose to never have anything to do with him when I was old enough to decide. My mum, unfortunately, fell victim to his abusive behaviour, and after finally standing up for herself and kicking him out of her life, he committed this unthinkable act of cruelty.
The fire started while my mum was taking a nap. She was fortunate enough the neighbours woke up her in time; a few more moments in the house, and she might not have made it out alive. She tried to save Peggy, but it was too late. The fire service worked to save her, but there was nothing they could do. Peggy was such a gentle soul, a dog who wouldn’t hurt a fly, and it’s unimaginable that he would do something so horrific to a dog he once ‘claimed to love.’
All my mum has now are the clothes she escaped with. She has lost everything—her home is completely destoryed, her belongings, and, most devastatingly, Peggy, who was more than just a pet. My mum is left to pick up the pieces of her life from scratch, and she needs all the help and support she can get.
Alot of people have asked how they can help, and any donations, no matter how small, would be incredibly appreciated. The funds raised will go towards:
- Essentials like clothing, toiletries, and everyday necessities
- Helping her secure a new place to live and rebuild her home
- Cremating Peggy and memorialising her in a way that honours her beautiful gentle spirit
- Providing resources as she navigates this incredibly difficult time
I understand that not everyone may be in a position to donate, but even sharing this page would mean the world to us. Every donation, every share, and every kind word helps my mum take one step closer to finding some peace after this traumatic event.
