My name is Ashley, and even though I'm writing to you from China right now, my heart is a million miles away – back on my tiny Caribbean island home of Carriacou, in Grenada. On July 1, that beautiful island I call home took a direct hit from Hurricane Beryl. The category 4 storm ripped through our community leaving a trail of devastation, and one of the things it took was the house I grew up in, the one that my mom lived in — until this week.
Right now, she's facing the overwhelming task of rebuilding her life, and with the distance separating us, I feel helpless. That's why I'm reaching out for your help.
Even the smallest donation can make a big difference in getting my mom back on her feet. The money raised will go directly towards building her a safe and secure home again.
Carriacou is a strong community, but this hurricane hit us hard. While I can't be there physically, any contribution you can make will be a beacon of hope for my mom and countless others affected.
Thank you for your compassion and generosity.
With love and gratitude,
Ashley
Transfer plan for funds: Money will be collected in a dedicated US bank account (managed by my friend Katy) and will be wired directly to my mother in Carriacou to pay for materials and labor to rebuild her home.
