My mom's home was devastated by Hurricane Helene, with four feet of water inside causing extensive damage, totaling their car, and leaving her and my sister with little of their belongings salvageable. She lost all her sentimental belongings—family photos, cherished mementos, and the comforts of home. With no place to call home for at least six months while repairs are made, we’re reaching out for help to cover the costs of rebuilding and providing her with a safe place to live during this difficult time. They do have homeowners insurance that will help with the costs, however there is a $15,000 deductible in addition to repairs that insurance will not cover, like potentially legally necessary future flood prevention measures.
