Hi everyone, my name is Nadir Morgan. I’m raising funds to help my dad and our community recover after Hurricane Melissa hit Manchester, Jamaica. My dad’s restaurant was badly damaged in the storm. The roof came apart, water flooded the inside, and a lot of what he worked for was ruined. It has been hard to see, but we’re keeping faith and staying hopeful that we can rebuild.
My dad has put his heart and soul into this restaurant. He’s one of the hardest working people I know. Every morning he’s up before the sun, cooking, greeting customers, and making sure everyone who comes by gets a warm meal and a good laugh. For him, the restaurant isn’t just a job. It’s where people from the neighborhood come together, talk, and get affordable good food!
We’re asking for a little help to get things back up and running. $1,500 of what we raise will go toward fixing the restaurant for repairing the roof, replacing the damaged kitchen equipment, and cleaning up the space so it can reopen. The rest of the money will go directly to helping people in the community who were hit hard by the hurricane. A lot of families lost homes, food, and supplies, and we want to make sure they’re not forgotten while we rebuild.
My dad has always been the kind of person who gives to others, even when he doesn’t have much himself. So now, we’re hoping others can lend a hand to him and to the people he’s always helped.
Anything you can give, even if it’s just sharing this page, means the world to us. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for helping us bring hope and life back to our community.
