Hello, I am Rhea, owner of beautiful little womenswear label Merri.

 

It’s really hard to find the right words to write, which is something I am usually very good at, still waiting for reality to really sink in...

 

Like many others in the north east of Australia I have lost my business, along with our family home and most of our belongings and as a one woman show and still a very small label it’s hard to comprehend how I will ever rebuild from this.

 

 

 

 

My business is amongst the many hit in Chinderah. Our whole downstairs fit out, my showroom and office, our hard work, blood sweat and tears, my means for providing for my family, still under water and so much uncertainty as to the extent of damage and when it will be back up and running.

 

 

 

 

Our little home in Bogangar still sits under water and we are yet to face the reality of the damage and start the clean up but in the end the water came well up over our kitchen bench. The highest level in history.

 

 

 

 

 

Right now I’m struggling to find the strength to ask for this type of help, but after sleepless nights wondering how we will cope I have decided to swallow my pride and call on anyone who has the means to help rebuild my dreams and livelihood and ease the financial burden at an already very traumatic time.

 

Myself and my family would be forever grateful and I thank you from the absolute bottom of my heart for your kindness and generosity.
