Hurricane Melissa has devastated our grandmother’s home in Jamaica. The storm tore the roof from her house, and heavy rain and flooding destroyed her furniture, clothing, and belongings. She’s now left without a safe place to live.

Miss Ruth is a pillar in the community, she's lived in Colgate for over 60 years and is well loved by the community. She is diabetic, has mobility challenges, vision and hearing loss which make this situation even more difficult. For the past few days, kind relatives and neighbors in the community have taken her in, but this is only a temporary solution. We are doing everything we can as a family to rebuild her home and restore her comfort, safety, and independence—but we cannot do it alone.
