Help Rebuild Michael &Piper’s Lives After Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
My name is Stefanie Maira (Cordeiro), and I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart. On September 27th, 2024, Hurricane Helene struck St. Petersburg, Florida, leaving my brother Michael and sister-in-law Piper devastated. In just a few hours, they lost everything when their home was inundated with water from storm surges that were significantly higher than expected for their area.
Despite their brave efforts to save what they could, the storm brought in toxic debris and saltwater that destroyed their furniture, clothing, appliances, bedding, and even their cars. The damage is overwhelming: the entire house needs to be gutted and renovated, including walls, floors, and fixtures. The damage was significant to the outside of the home as well, including the pool. They are safe, and their beloved pup Louie is too—that’s what matters most. But the financial burden of rebuilding their lives is daunting.
While insurance may cover some renovations, Michael and Piper are left to replace all their belongings, manage mortgage payments on a home they can’t live in, and find temporary housing. On top of that, they are without cars and need immediate solutions for transportation.
We are asking for your support during this incredibly challenging time. Every donation, no matter how small, will help ease their financial strain and provide a lifeline as they navigate this difficult journey. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Together, we can help Michael and Piper rebuild their lives after this disaster.
