Hi I’m raising funds to help my grandmother (Mamma) rebuild her home that her son had promised to rebuild. He convinced her to trust him with the insurance money after her home burnt down. It was supposed to be her forever home, but was never truly rebuilt. Instead, after years of manipulation, heartbreak, and legal battles, the home sits unfinished, the land trashed, and Mamma — now 78 — is left with over $12,000 in debt, no home, a big mess to clean up, and nowhere to turn.
Her home burnt down and just seven days after the fire, he convinced Mamma to give him power of attorney, promising he’d handle everything.
Year after year, she waited. He said he had a plan. Excuse after excuse, new promising plan after another. If she questioned him he’d start listing off all the things he ever did to help her until she was apologizing. The money disappeared, the property neglected, and the promises were broken. It took her sons own kids coming to her and telling her their father was trying to sell her home for cash. She had to fight in court to gain back control and get him removed from the property. Spent 11k on attorneys.
Now, the property is in complete decline — unfinished framing, unsafe conditions, and thousands in back taxes. Mamma’s dream of peace and security has been replaced with years of emotional and financial devastation.
We’re asking for help to clean the land, complete the home she was promised, and give her a safe, peaceful place to live for the rest of her life. She deserves that. After everything she’s endured, we just want to give her peace.
Mamma has worked her whole life for others. She’s a kind, humble woman who never asks for help — but now, I’m asking for her.
If you can donate, share, or even send a kind message, it means more than you know.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
❤️ Why This Matters
Mamma has spent her entire life taking care of others. She worked at Goodwill to make ends meet, raised her grandkids, held onto hope when everything was falling apart, and continued believing in people who didn’t deserve her trust. She never asked for help — but I am asking for her now.
This land was meant to be her sanctuary. We want to give her the peace, dignity, and safety she deserves — and you can be part of that.
Together we can rebuild Mammas home.
