As a new small business owner, November 17th will be a day Daniel & Adiam will never forget. At 1:00 am they received a call from ADT of a possible break-in, and after reviewing the cameras from their cozy and warm beds, the devastating news was indeed accurate. The heartless criminals used a white van to break through the market’s glass front door and destroy everything in its path. Once inside, the individuals separated as if they understood their mission. One person went for the cash they’d been saving for revocation, a computer monitor and other personal items. The second person went for the all-expensive tobacco inventory, the POS system, and other expensive equipment; The third individual was the driver of the white van and the lookout. In only 3mins and & $50,000 worth of damage Daniel & Adiam’s sense of safety and life investment was taken away.
On October 1, 2021, Daniel and Adiam purchased Madrona Market & Deli from the previous owner. After 15 years in a successful career in the banking industry, Daniel decided to leave his secure job, and his wife Adiam worked in the healthcare setting for ten years. As second-generation Americans Daniel expressed to me that when he discovered that Madrona Market was for sale, he did not hesitate to follow the American dream of owning his own business. They’ve invested all their savings in opening their first business, and it breaks my heart to see how hard he has to work to reestablish himself.
Daniel & Adiam are the most welcoming and generous people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Their motto is to treat their customers like family members and make them feel at home and enjoy and love what they do. When you walk into the market you are always welcomed with a warm “Hello” and “welcome in” Through their Market in the Madrona neighborhood, they’ve touched countless people with their warm and kind hearts.
Madrona Market & Deli has become a part of the community so let’s all come together to support them in this challenging time. Your contribution will help Daniel & Adiam get Madrona Market & Deli up and running by ordering supplies lost during the break-in and replacing a costly entryway storefront and other expensive equipment. They have no other means of income to cover losses and expenses.
Any amount helps. Sharing this go fund would be much appreciated if you can't donate any money. Please share this post. #smallbusinessrelief
