Hello everyone,

My name is Janine Marie Mahinay, and I currently live in London, Ontario, Canada. I was born and raised in the Philippines and still have many friends and extended family in Cebu.

I’m organizing this fundraiser to help families across Cebu who have been severely affected by Typhoon Tino (Fung-Wong). The typhoon caused massive destruction many homes were damaged, power lines were downed, and families have lost access to food, clean water, and safe shelter.

Although I now live in Canada, I remain closely connected with people in Cebu through friends, classmates, and local contacts who are volunteering on the ground. They will help distribute the relief goods directly to the affected families, especially in the areas where government help hasn’t yet reached.

How the funds will be used:

All donations will go directly toward emergency relief and rebuilding efforts, specifically for:

Food packs (rice, canned goods, noodles, and baby formula)

Clean drinking water

Medicine and hygiene kits (soap, toothpaste, sanitary pads, alcohol, etc.)

Roofing and basic materials to repair damaged homes

Assistance for families who lost their belongings or livelihoods

I will withdraw the funds to my Canadian account and then send them directly to trusted volunteers and local contacts in Cebu through secure money transfer services (such as Remitly or Western Union). I will also provide updates and photos to show where and how the funds are being used, ensuring full transparency and accountability.

Every contribution, no matter how small, will help a family recover and rebuild. Together, we can bring hope and comfort to those who are still waiting for help.
