Help Rebuild Lives After the Devastating Cebu Earthquake
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart as my hometown of Cebu, Philippines has been devastated by a powerful 6.9 magnitude earthquake on September 30, 2025. As someone originally from this province, the pain and destruction hit close to home.
The impact has been catastrophic:
- 69 lives lost, with 147 injured, a lot still unaccounted for
- ₱2 billion in damages to homes, buildings, and vital infrastructure
- Families left without shelter, clean water, or even a safe place to sleep
- Volunteers risking their lives to rescue those trapped under collapsed buildings
The image I’ve attached shows the heartbreaking reality: destroyed homes, makeshift shelters, people gathering water from the shore, and rescue teams working tirelessly amid the rubble. It’s a glimpse into the suffering and resilience of the people of Cebu.
I’m raising funds to support:
- Emergency relief: food, clean water, and hygiene supplies
- Temporary shelters for displaced families
- Medical aid for the injured
- Support for rescue and recovery efforts
