A recent flood has caused heartbreaking damage to Little Sprouts Preschool and Daycare, a home-based daycare that has lovingly cared for children and families in Nooksack for years. What was once a warm, safe home filled with learning and laughter is now unsafe for children and requires extensive cleanup and repairs.

Floodwaters soaked floors and walls and destroyed nearly everything used for daily care—toys, books, art supplies, curriculum materials, sensory play items, learning centers, rugs, storage bins, and other preschool and daycare materials, along with essential safety equipment. In addition to rebuilding, the home requires professional flood cleanup, mold prevention, and deep sanitation before it can even begin the process of reopening.

The heart of Little Sprouts is its owner and provider, Stephanie. Stephanie has dedicated herself to creating a nurturing, loving environment where every child is treated like family. She goes above and beyond for the children in her care—celebrating milestones, offering comfort, and providing stability and warmth that parents deeply trust. For many families, Little Sprouts isn’t just a daycare; it’s a second home because of Stephanie’s compassion and commitment.

Because this daycare operates out of a home, the flood has impacted both a small business and Stephanie’s family home and livelihood.
