Help Rebuild Key Lime Tree
Hi! Most of you know me, Samantha Wahba, & my family. This go fund me is for my wonderful and strong mother, Violet Wahba.
My mom owns a business in the Florida Keys, known as the Key Lime Tree Shop. My mom is honestly a trooper. She works 7 days a week, wakes up in the early mornings, and stays at the shop until late at night, making sure everything is ready for the next day. My mom makes sure that every customer she meets leaves with a smile on their face. She has put her heart and soul into this business and talks about it every single day. I am so proud of her for going after her goals and ambitions in wanting to be her own boss and making this business everything that it could be for herself and my family. She gets pure joy out of doing this, and it makes me so happy to see her happy and feeling fulfilled.
On December 15th, my mother received a call that the shop was engulfed in flames in the middle of the night. My parents arrived at the shop at 1:30 in the morning to find the inside of the store and approximately $150,000 in merchandise destroyed. My mom was gearing up for the holiday season, where she makes most of her sales, but due to the fire and the loss of her product, she could not open the shop during her peak time.
I've been hesitant to create this - but I would really like to do something for my mom because I know how much she has put into this, and I wish there were something more I could do to help her get through this. My mom HATES asking for help, and she is the type of person who doesn't complain about difficult moments or obstacles she faces. I know she's strong, and I know she's figuring something out on her own, but I want to ask for help on behalf of her.
My mom is a servant leader. She loves to serve others. She always puts other individuals first and will always try to see a silver lining in any situation. She has been active in the Upper Keys Community for the last couple of years by being an Upper Keys Rotarian and participating in community events. She also kept the shop open during the peak times of COVID to feed over 350 meals a day to those in need. In addition, my mom helped serve the northernmost distribution and donation center in the Keys for several months while businesses were still shut down.
The Key Lime Tree is her pride and joy. I would love to assist her in rebuilding it and re-purchasing the destroyed merchandise so that she can continue pursuing her dream. Any donation or sharing of this fund helps! Thank you for your time.
