My mother is a single mother of ten children who has poured her heart into running Kay’s Snack Shack, a small business she started in memory of my oldest sister, Kayla Gomez, who passed away in a tragic car accident. After Kayla’s passing, my mother took on the responsibility of raising all four of Kayla’s children, in addition to her own, and has worked tirelessly to bring smiles to people’s faces through her snack shack.
Recently, tragedy struck again when the snack shack trailer was involved in an accident. While leaving an event, the trailer disconnected from the truck and slammed onto the ground, causing severe damage to most of the equipment and inventory inside. The soft serve machine, water tank system, and other essential items were ruined, leaving my mother devastated and unsure how to move forward.
I am reaching out to the community for help to repair and replace the damaged equipment and restore the trailer so my mother can get Kay’s Snack Shack back up and running. Any support, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference and help keep Kayla’s memory alive through the joy the snack shack brings to others. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any kindness you can offer.
