Last week, Sept. 17th, 2025, a devastating fire ripped through 481 Van Brunt St., in Red Hook, Brooklyn. The historic building housed hundreds of artists and small businesses. One of these was Jura, a modern floral studio focusing on artistic and thoughtful design rooted in the emphasis of local materials and sustainable practices.

My friend, Migle, is the owner and founder of Jura and if you happen to know her you know how hard she’s worked to build this business from the ground up. She pours her heart into every project and event, big or small, and brings beauty and meaning to her clients’ most important moments. From gallery shows to small dinner parties, weddings, galas, and beyond.

Following the fire, her studio is looking to relocate and build out a new space, any little boost of support will help her to continue sharing her incredible florals with the community.
