Help Rebuild ISG Gym in Harrison NY

Hi my name is Dafne Ginn and this fundraiser is to help rebuild ISG Gymnastics in Harrison, NY.  ISG was devastated by Hurricane Ida, and the gym, a beloved place of many families in Westchester, has to be completely rebuilt.

ISG has been a very important to my family - my daughter Abby is part of the competitive team and my daughter Erin is part of the staff. There are no words to describe how special Gina and ISG have become to not only my kids, but to all of the ISG children who couldn't wait to get to the Gym for their next lesson or for free play or who hosted their birthday party there or who just liked to hang out because the Gym was such a remarkable place to be.

Gina has applied for FEMA loan but literally everything has to be replaced; always one to do the right thing,  she refunded all the families who had lessons coming up in the fall. Seeing this devastation, and knowing they won't be able to re-open for many months, has been hard to process. I know lots of you feel the same. ISG is family.

Gina's words:

"I hope that all of you are well and that if you suffered storm loss that it was minimal and you are all dry once again.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I write to you all today. The damage and loss to ISG from the storm on Sept 1st is extensive. And so, it is with great sadness that we will have to cancel our fall semester. The gym took on 41 inches of water- just about everything was destroyed and needs to be replaced, and sadly there is substantial damage to the building as well.

As many of you know, ISG is my pride and joy. Over the last few years I have spent 70+ hours per week at the gym (and countless hours replying to emails from home) in an effort to make ISG the absolute best it can be. It has always been my goal to make sure that every child who walks through our doors feels special and always feels the love and support that they all deserve. You put your trust in me and I do so hope that I have delivered. So rest assured, ISG will be back better than ever as soon as humanly possible. Covid didn’t stop me and nor will Hurricane Ida!!!

I am so humbled by the outpouring from so many of you over the last few days (and weeks while my Marine son was in Afghanistan). It means the world to me to know that so many of you love ISG as much as I do! Many of you have asked what you can do. While there really isn’t much that anyone can do right now (unless one of you wins one of the big lotteries coming up LOL), there is one little thing that will make a big difference… pictures (both photographs and drawings)! Nothing would make me happier than to hear from the kids and as you know, I hang up every picture the kids make for me because it is very special when the kids spend their time to make me something! And so I am hoping that when we get to reopen that we will have the walls covered floor to ceiling with drawings, cards, and photos of kids having a blast at the gym!
