Hello, I am a 25-year-old from Gaza. Like many others, I once held dreams filled with hope and ambition—believing that, with hard work, I could achieve a meaningful future. That belief was still alive just a year ago. But everything changed when the war began. The violence shattered not only our physical spaces but our aspirations and sense of stability.

My home has been severely damaged due to nearby bombings, forcing my family and me into displacement. We’ve been living in tents, facing harsh conditions every day.

After graduating, I spent years trying to find employment. I trained, volunteered, and reached out to every hospital I could. Opportunities were scarce, but I refused to give up. I was even offered the chance to leave, but I chose to stay, believing that even in hardship, my home is worth holding onto.

Eventually, I found remote work and began to experience small joys—connecting with friends, and exploring the beauty of Gaza. That beauty, like so much else, has since been destroyed.

When the war escalated, I lost everything—my job, my home, my sense of safety, and many people I cared about. All that remained was grief and uncertainty. But through it all, I hold on to hope: the hope that we can rebuild, rediscover who we were, and create something new from what’s been lost.
