My name is Chuck. I have been a volunteer with the Ignite Sign Art Museum since 2020. On October 19, 2025, the museum suffered a devastating fire which destroyed the Small Collections gallery, and virtually all of the artifacts inside. Some 560 in all. Most of these were one of a kind, and can never be replaced. These artifacts, collected over the last 50 years, told the story of Tucson through its signage. From your favorite restaurants, stores, and other businesses large and small, the artifacts read like a history book of our community. Most of the large neon artifacts survived (thank God for small miracles), but the minutia--the fine and wonderful details--are gone.
Of course, the museum had insurance, but insurance cannot replace what has been lost--it just fixes the building. Your donation will permit the search for, purchase of, and restoration of a new collection with which to tell the story of the Old Pueblo. Will it be better? No. Will it be as good? With your help, yes.
History is worth knowing.
History is worth remembering.
History is worth saving.
Saving history is worth whatever it takes.
Thank you for your generous donation.
