Help Rebuild Hope for Pearl
Donation protected
Pearl has always been there for others--now its time to be there for her.
The devastating July 4th flooding that ripped through Central Texas, specifically Kerr County, will have a lasting impact on residents and visitors alike. The emotional toll and trauma this event has taken on so many of our friends, neighbors, brothers and sisters cannot be underestimated. Peace, hope and comfort for the survivors.
Sharon and I have chosen to open this Gofundme campaign to help our dearest, most special of friends and sister in spirit, Pearl Cole. In the early morning hours of July 4th, Pearl was jarred awake to knee-high mud and water gushing into her home. With her 4-year-old granddaughter's arms wrapped around her neck, she waded through the muck along with Larry to seek out her brother, Savas. She acknowledged rescuers in the process of helping him to escape. First and foremost, all are safe, and we are forever grateful.
The immediate impact on Pearl and her family is devastating. Her home is destroyed for good and is deemed uninhabitable by the city/county. Her truck was struck by another vehicle and sustained considerable damage. Of Larry's two motorcycles, one is retrieved but severly damaged. The second one is presumed washed away. The storage room is unsalvageable. Personal necessities are ruined or impossible to retrieve due to unsafe conditions in the home.
On Sunday, July 6, they were provided lodging for one week, thankfully. Hopefully The Red Cross will be able to step in soon as time goes on. Pearl and her family are displaced, and they are essentially homeless, She never acknowledged her own pain, only that of others, especially all the lost souls.
In the immediate, her family will need to purchase essential items such as temporary lodging, hygiene, clothing, footwear, etc. All funds raised here will go toward their immediate needs.
We grieve for the lost souls and survivors and plan to donate what we can. Times are tough all around, so any donation you can spare will be most graciously appreciated.
I will attempt to post any updates as they arise.
Many thank yous to each and every one of you. Hold your loved ones near and dear. God Bless.
