My name is Duana, and I reside near Disneyland in California, originally from a Jamaican family rooted in love, resilience, and community. I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my aunt, who lives in Jamaica, and who has recently suffered a devastating loss from the impact of Hurricane Melissa.

My aunt not only lost her home, but her car, belongings and also her small restaurant, which was her only source of income. In a matter of hours, everything she worked years to build, her livelihood, her stability, her sense of security was destroyed. She is currently displaced, without shelter, without resources, and without the means to rebuild on her own.

This fundraiser is to help my aunt with the immediate and urgent support she needs to:

Secure safe temporary housing

Replace essential and clothing

Cover basic living expenses

Begin cleaning and possibly rebuilding her business so she can once again support herself and my cousin with dignity

My aunt is someone who has always given to others. Her restaurant was more than a business it was a place where neighbors came for meals, comfort, and connection. She has served people from all walks of life with kindness, warmth, and a full heart. Now, she is the one who needs help.
