GoFundMe Story
My name is Chenee Daley, and I was raised in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, Jamaica. I am raising funds to help families in the communities of Grange Hill, Savanna-la-Mar, and Petersfield who have been badly affected by Hurricane Melissa.
Seeing the destruction in my community has broken my heart. Roofs have been torn off, belongings destroyed, and some houses are no longer safe to live in. Many people have lost not just their homes, but also their basic supplies. Among those affected are my own family members and close neighbors, people I grew up with and love dearly.
I am asking for your support to help 5 families from my childhood community to get the supplies they need to rebuild and repair their homes and restart their lives with dignity.
Our goal is to raise $10,000. This will help to provide:
Roofing materials (zinc, boards, nails, etc.)
Basic building supplies (cement, blocks, lumber)
Essential household items (mattresses, bedding, small appliances)
Food, water, and hygiene products for those who lost everything
Even a small donation can make a big difference.
For many of these families, help is slow to come, and they do not have savings or insurance to start over. That is why I am stepping in to do what I can and asking you to join me.
I will be sharing updates and photos of how the funds are used so donors can see exactly who they are helping and what has been done.
Please consider donating and sharing this GoFundMe with your friends, family, churches, and social groups. Together, we can help these families in Grange Hill, Savanna-la-Mar, and Petersfield rebuild their homes and their hope.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Chenee Daley
