Help Rebuild Hertford Westmoreland, Jamaica After Hurricane Melissa

My name is Jamie Bienstock, and my family is raising money for Judy Jemmison, her family, and neighbors who were affected by Hurricane Melissa. Many of you know Judy, our caregiver, who has become a member of our family. Judy and her family have a home in Hertford Westmoreland, Jamaica, one of the hardest-hit areas by Hurricane Melissa. This community has been severely impacted, and they are working hard to rebuild. With your support, they can restore what has been lost.

Last week, Hurricane Melissa tore through the community, leaving significant destruction in its wake. Entire houses collapsed, leaving families without shelter. Many homes that are still standing have lost their roofs, exposing families to the elements. Doors and windows were ripped away. Severe flooding damaged belongings, contaminated water sources, and destroyed what some families had spent their lives building. The scale of this disaster is more than they can handle alone, which is why we’re reaching out on behalf of Judy, her family, and her neighbors.

Every dollar raised will go directly toward immediate relief and rebuilding efforts. Right now, families need food and clean water. They need emergency supplies, essentials, and temporary shelter materials. As they begin to rebuild, funds will go toward roofing materials, lumber and building supplies for home repairs, doors, windows, cleanup equipment and supplies, and ongoing food support for families in need.
