Help Rebuild Henry Viau's Home After Fire

Donation protected
At 4 a.m. on Easter Sunday, my father’s house was engulfed in flames. My dad, Henry Viau, is a 65-year-old disabled Navy veteran who spent his life working in electrical and construction trades. After years of hardship and a recent divorce, he had just begun rebuilding his life—literally and emotionally—by creating a new home for us.

That home is now gone.

In the fire, we not only lost our house, but also our cherished kitty companions—Ghost and Tallulah— whose absence is deeply felt. The grief is overwhelming, but we are determined to rebuild our home in their memory.

As for me, I’m less than a month away from university graduation with a degree in writing. What should have been a time of celebration has become a time of uncertainty, as I now face the loss of the place I hoped to return to after graduation.

If you’re able to help in any way, we are profoundly grateful. As a small thank-you, I’d be more than happy to offer proofreading or editing services for emails, projects, or any writing work in exchange for your support.

Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for standing with us in this incredibly difficult moment.

Any donations will be used to afford new walls, floors, essential furniture, utilities, and basic construction needs. With your help, we can rebuild my father's small one-floor, two-bedroom home.
