Helene Boucher and Francis X McCarthy were never able to return home on Tuesday afternoon. - September 8, 2020. They were trapped in their car on I-5 for several hours while first responders were evacuating neighbors in their Talent, Oregon community. Their two kittens were home alone while they desperately tried to get home to evacuate them. The end of this story is not happy. Helene and Francis lost their home and have not found their precious kittens. Along with hundreds of other families in the Talent and Phoenix area, they have nothing left but the clothes they wore on Tuesday, shock and gratitude for their lives.
There are many horrific fires burning in Oregon. Fires have swept through the Talent and Phoenix area with devastating speed and without mercy. This is one couple’s tragedy and is personal for me.
I have known Helene and Francis for over 20 years and they have always been one of the first to lend a hand when disaster occurs. They are always there for others and my heart is devastated for their loss. Many of their friends, including myself, have already shared clothes, shelter, food and other necessities to ease their pain. Please join me in supporting this couple to rebuild their home and lives. All funds donated will go directly to Helene and Francis and will be used for the express purpose or assisting them to find a home to live. Funds would be applied towards housing, and replacement of essential contents, clothes and food.
Helene went back to the house this morning to try to find her precious kittens but the heat was so intense she could not get close. Please help these loving beautiful people rebuild their home and lives and pray for all those whose lives have been so swiftly torn apart. Pray for all first responders and fire fighters who so courageously risk their lives so that others might live. Thank you, thank you, thank you
