I’m reaching out on behalf of two of my closest friends — a kind, hardworking couple who are parents to a sweet 2-year-old daughter and are expecting a new baby this November.
Recently, they experienced an unimaginable loss when their basement flooded, destroying nearly everything they had worked so hard to save and prepare for both of their children.
This included items for their toddler — clothes, toys, keepsakes — as well as everything they had lovingly gathered for their new baby: a crib, strollers, baby swings, newborn clothes, diapers, and more. Years of parenting and planning were washed away in a matter of hours.
They’ve always been the kind of people who give without expecting anything in return, but now they truly need our support. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping them rebuild what was lost and prepare for the arrival of their little one.
If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this with others. Let’s help this amazing family get back on their feet and surround them with the love and community they’ve always shown others.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you.
From Erika and Family:
My partner and I absolutely hate asking for help — but with a baby on the way, we desperately need it.
My best friend Aleah created this GoFundMe to support us during this incredibly difficult time. For those who don’t know us well: my partner Ignacio is the only one working right now, and I stay at home with our 2-year-old daughter. I’m currently pregnant with our second daughter, due in November.
Things were already tight with Ignacio starting a new job and us adjusting financially — but we were making it work. Then the flood happened, and we lost nearly everything.
All of our baby items were destroyed: swings, high chair, bouncer, bottle sterilizer, blankets, bottles, car seat, breast pumps, toys, and the playpen with the bassinet and changing table that we absolutely loved — all gone
We also lost items I had been setting aside for our daughter to grow into — clothes, shoes, toys — completely ruined. On top of that, we lost our washing machine, dryer, deep freezer (and all the food in it), TVs, and more.
We know we can’t replace everything, nor are we trying to. Our hope is just to raise enough to get a washer, dryer, and the essential baby items we need before our little girl arrives.
We are deeply grateful for any help, whether it's a donation or simply sharing this with others. Thank you for being part of our support system — it means the world to us.
