Hello everyone,

My name is Monique Thompson. I was born in Jamaica and currently live in Mount Vernon, New York. I am raising funds to support my immediate and extended family in Falmouth, St. Elizabeth, and St. Mary, Jamaica, who were directly affected by Hurricane Melissa.

Many of my family members have lost their homes, personal belongings, crops, and essential household items. Several relatives are currently displaced and staying with neighbors because their homes were flooded or severely damaged. As their direct relative, I will personally collect, manage, and distribute all support to ensure it reaches those in need.

How the funds will be used:

• To provide direct financial assistance to affected family members for repairing damaged homes — including roof repairs, replacement of beds, appliances, and essential household items.

• To purchase food, clean water, hygiene products, medication, and other basic necessities for families unable to restock on their own.

• A portion will go toward buying food supplies and packing barrels to be shipped from the United States to Jamaica.

• To prepare and ship barrels containing clothing, toiletries, canned food, bedding, school supplies for children, and other essentials.

• To provide transportation assistance for elderly relatives who are unable to travel to access supplies.

I will share regular updates, photos, and proof of purchases so that donors can see exactly how their contributions are being used. Every dollar will go directly toward helping my family recover, and I take full responsibility for ensuring transparency and accountability.
