Help Rebuild Donna's Home After Storm Damage

Hey everyone. I have started this GoFundMe for my sweet momma, Donna, even though she objected. We live in Louisiana and had some severe weather come through tonight on. We live in mobile homes so we were waiting the weather out at her brothers house and when it was over we went home to my house. We live on the same road so when she left to go home it only takes her a few minutes. She called me not long after and I could tell something was wrong. When she could finally tell me what happened, she let me know that the top of a tree fell through her house. It went through in multiple places and caved her roof in in the middle of the trailer. Today is her birthday and she’s devastated.

We are thankful that she was not in her home and she is alive. She has a small insurance policy on it, but it won’t be enough to cover getting a new home, so I really don’t know how much to set the goal to for this, however, I know anything is appreciated. We have not been able to fully assess what all she has lost since it is dark, but we are fairly certain she has lost her home. She is going to have to pay to get a storage unit for what furniture and belongings she can get out among other expenses that is going to come with this.

12 years ago I watched my mom work her tail off as a single mom for this house after leaving a very difficult and hard 23 year marriage. I was so proud of her when she bought it, because I knew it finally meant she was strong enough to leave and that those days were behind our family. This house was our safe haven and her new start. My momma is the absolute strongest woman I know, and she has a smile that can light up a room. She has always been the one you can call on for anything to those around her. Although she does not want to ask for any donations, I’m going to for her because she deserves every bit of it.

Us kids, along with her family, will of course be helping her in any way we can, but any other help will be a huge blessing for her. I know she will appreciate any and every donation and if you cannot donate, that is absolutely okay. We all know times are not easy at the moment. A simple share will be just as helpful.
