Help Devin Rebuild Her Ashville Home after Hurricane Helene

Hi! My name is Chelsea and I’m the Managing Director of the Dr. West Approved, YourBiotics and Be Truly Well Health Centers and I’m based out of Tampa Bay Florida.

Our employees and facilities span most of the East Coast from Delaware to Florida.

Several were severely affected these past few weeks by both Hurricane Helene and Milton.

Dr. West and his family suffered a major loss of their home and vehicle in Tampa Bay Florida. Fortunately they have the means to find temporary housing and get relocated.

Many of you know our long time employee Devin Johnson from the Newark, DE, Be Truly Well Health Center location or her voice over the phone as the Customer Service Rep for YourBiotics and Dr. West Approved. I’ve personally worked with Devin for the last 7 years and she is a huge part of the Dr. West Approved family.

You may not know that Devin relocated just outside Ashville, North Carolina a little over 2 years ago and continued working with the company remotely.

We received communication from Devin about 3 days after the storm saying this:

“Yes, Chris and I are homeless right now. Most of the county has been washed away by the river. No power or gas. All bridges down and several landslides took out the only road. Military has brought food and goods. The community center allows people to use WiFi, 15 mins per person.

We are okay. Staying with friends and making it work.

I found out a few days ago families weren’t or did not evacuate. A lot of families and children died. I still don’t know about my friends on the other side of the mountain, only rescue teams can make it back there.”

As relieved as we are to know that she is safe and uninjured this news is heartbreaking.

Devin is homeless at this time, her home was flooded beyond repair and most of her belongings were destroyed. She has been unable to work as they were without power and internet for the last 2 weeks. Unfortunately she does not have the means to financial support herself or even cover temporary housing at this time.

We’re asking the Dr. West Approved, YourBiotics and Be Truly Well community to come together to help Devin rebuild her home and life in Ashville.

The goal would be to raise $15,000 which should be enough money to cover her temporary housing, utilities, food, gas and other necessary belongings that were destroyed in the historic flooding. We also want to help with the construction costs to rebuild her tiny home.

Nothing big, only what you can, $10 or $20 is all we ask to help Devin get back on her feet.
