Help Rebuild Critical Wildlife Areas
Donation protected
Founded in the spring of 2023, the Wood River Chapter of the Mule Deer Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the landscape for mule deer and other wildlife. In the summer of 2024, our team of volunteers removed approximately 2 miles of barbed wire fencing at Queens Crown and Rock Creek Ranch. Additionally, the Mule Deer Foundation in collaboration with Idaho Fish & Game and the BLM, planted over 106,000 sage and bitterbrush seedlings in the Wedge Butte Burn Scar, east of Magic Reservoir.
Looking ahead, we plan to collect seeds in the fall of 2024 to restore the Gardner Fire burn scar in 2025. This fire, located a few miles northwest of Picabo, destroyed over 1,100 acres of critical habitat for migrating ungulates and other wildlife.
Reestablishing sage and bitterbrush naturally can take up to 400 years, but with your support, we can reduce that time to as little as 5 to 10 years.
Help us restore these vital habitats by donating today. Every contribution makes a difference!
