Help Rebuild Community Space Food Bank After Fire

Tax deductible
On the morning of July 3rd, 2025, a fire broke out just outside Community Space Food Bank, sparked accidentally by an unhoused neighbor trying to stay warm. The flames quickly spread to nearby brush and encampments, reaching our facility at 3615 Beverly Blvd, Unit A in Los Angeles.

Though no lives were lost, the damage to our building and our ability to serve the community has been devastating.

We are a grassroots, volunteer-powered nonprofit that provides daily free meals, fresh produce, clothing, and dignity-centered support to families, seniors, working-class individuals, and unhoused neighbors. Before the fire, we served over 80 families a day and provided 60–80 hot meals every single day.

Because of the fire:

Our $8,000 commercial freezer was destroyed

Over 200+ clothing items and thousands of dollars in food were lost to fire, ash, or water damage

Our flooring, walls, electrical, and lighting all sustained fire or water damage

Our security system, ice maker, printer, TV, fan, and couch were ruined

The front doors were broken down by firefighters during emergency entry

The facility is now covered in ash, soot, and smoke, requiring professional deep cleaning

Our daily operating income has dropped from $900 to nearly nothing

We are insured, but claims take time—and the need in our community doesn’t pause.

We need your help to recover, reopen, and keep serving people in need.

Your donation will go directly toward:

Replacing damaged equipment and food

Restoring and deep cleaning the facility

Recovering lost income and resuming full operations

Keeping our doors open to the public during this difficult time

Even small donations will make a difference. If you can’t give, please consider sharing this campaign to help us reach more people who care.

From the bottom of our hearts—thank you for standing with us.

With gratitude,
